A Safe Harbor Transitional Living Program helps young people make the transition to becoming an independent adult.

At the Northern Lighthouse’s Safe Harbor, TLP youth share a large, boarding home-style living environment with staff supervision serving males and females between the ages of 16 and 21 for up to an 18-month stay. Participants are enrolled in a high school educational program, working toward completing their GED or diploma if needed (also may be attending a secondary college or vocational program). They are employed either independently or through the assistance of the program with local businesses or working on gaining employment skills to obtain a job. Case managers and On-site Counseling Staff are available for guidance and support to aid youth as they transition into adulthood.
