Emergency Shelter for Homeless Youth
Receive shelter and support at The Northern Lighthouse, Inc. The Northern Lighthouse, Inc. offers all-inclusive, short-term emergency shelter to runaway and homeless youth ages 10-17. We are the first and only emergency shelter for homeless youth in Aroostook County. This Emergency Shelter is located on 14 Main Street, Mars Hill, Maine and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Youth are provided food and clothing, case management, and other supportive services as needed.
At our Emergency Shelter, children and teens (ages 10-17) will:
- Gain access to case management, healthcare, family mediation services, and local supports
- Receive food, clothing, and basic necessities
- Gain access to Home and Community Based Treatment, Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Outpatient Therapy if needed
- Find support with education opportunities and gaining employment
Youth will also have opportunities to participate in recreational, community, and team-building activities.
